If you're looking for a little more adventure,
technical diving maybe just the thing for you.

Question: What is Technical diving?

All non commercial diving is categorized as recreational and within recreational diving there is sport and technical. Sport diving includes Open Water certification, Advanced certification, and many other Specialty courses. Technical diving picks up where sport diving generally ends at Basic Nitrox (a breathing gas with oxygen levels greater than 21 percent).

Question: What is my first step into Technical diving?

Basic Nitrox is most divers first step into technical diving, but it has also become very popular amongst sport divers. Enroling into the Twinset Fundamentals Workshop enlightens you on kit requirements and serves as a taster before comiting further. From there you can enrol onto the most popular first level Technical courses; Advanced Nitrox and Narcosis Management. Advanced Nitrox and Narcosis Management offer the necessary foundation required for technical diving. All other courses will build on the knowledge and skills learned during these courses.

Question: Do I have to go deep for Technical diving?

No. Although technical diving is commonly thought of as deep, there are a lot of courses that stay within the sport diving limits such as Narcosis Management, Advanced Nitrox, and Semi Closed Circuit Rebreather (SCR) just to name a few.

Question: Will Technical diving allow me to go deeper?

Yes. PSAI has course curriculums that take you as deep as 100 m / 330 feet and do so in a manner that each course builds on the last and each course takes you a little deeper. By receiving training in this manner not only are your skills and knowledge increased, but so is your comfort level.

Question: How old do I have to be? What are the prerequisites?

Be a minimum age of fifteen (15). Have a minimum certification of Nitrox Diver (or equivalent). Show proof of fifty (50) logged open water dives. Deep Diver Training with 10 additional dives logged between 27m-40m (89 - 132 feet).

Question: Which Technical agency is best?

We teach PSAI, because they have the most qualified instructors in the world. They possess the complete teaching tool kit! A vital component within the process of qualification is always going to be your instructor, they make the difference between a so-so course and a great course. Before a PSA instructor works with you, they will have demonstrated their ability both as a diver and an instructor at all previous technical levels whenever they take their next qualification level.

We also recognize that technical trainers will sometimes need to slow people down to instill a better appreciation of their own diving limits. It is very scary hearing a student thinking they know it all, because they have read a few books and have taken part in some internet discussion groups. The reality is experience of the real thing will never be able to be replaced by any other form of activity. PSAI is most sought after technical agency qualifications worldwide.
