Some would say that Bill is going through a mid-life crisis of sorts, and he probably would agree with you! Why else
would a mid-40’s mechanical engineer take up diving so late in life? The answer is simple – ADVENTURE! Actually,
having watched Sea Hunt as a youngster (now he’s showing his age!), he always wanted to dive, but didn’t make
it a priority until now.
Regardless of the reasons, Bill started his trip down “Scuba Lane” with a Discover Scuba adventure on March
25, 2005 in Key Largo, FL while on vacation with his family. Upon returning home to Newburgh, he and his son Steven immediately
signed up for Open Water classes at Regional Scuba. Since then, Bill’s passion for the sport has grown, having nearly
attained Master Scuba Diver (MSD) level by the end of the diving season in 2005.
Bill logged 45 dives in 2005, looks forward to breaking 100 in ’06, and is presently a Divemaster candidate in training
at Regional Scuba. Given his engineering background, it’s just a matter of time before he ventures into Decompression
Diving and gets the training needed to become one of the (very) qualified equipment repair techs at Regional.
