Ralph holds the dive industries most prestigious ratings, NAUI Course Director; this is NAUI's highest instructor
rating. It allows Ralph to offer NAUI programs from entry level through Instructor Trainer. Ralph’s experience
in the diving industry is widespread; he began teaching scuba diving in 1990 as a PADI instructor in Newburgh, NY. From 1990
to 1993 Ralph certified over 300 plus divers establishing Giglio Scuba as a force in the industry. Ralph worked for various
Dive Centers from 1994 to 1999. During that period he certified more divers than any Instructor or Dive Center in the greater
New York area. In 1999 Ralph entered into a venture with Regional Scuba in Newburgh, New York. He managed two PADI Dive Centers
during 1999 and 2000. In 2000 Regional Scuba, Inc. started to grow at an amazing rate, it prompted him to put his full effort
into Regional Scuba, Inc., now the only NAUI Pro Gold Instructor Training Facility, PADI 5 Star and National Geographic
Dive Center in the Mid Hudson Valley.
Ralph has logged over 5000+ dives around the world, and has extensive experience in North East Wreck Diving,
warm water Wreck Diving in North Carolina and the St. Lawrence Seaway in Canada, Cave and Cavern Diving in Florida and Mexico
and Technical Deep Diving around the globe. Ralph just enjoys being underwater and shares his passion with all of his students.
Ralph also has experience in many other areas of diving. Ralph sought out training with only the best that the
industry had to offer. During Ralph’s instructor training he pursued learning from the man who wrote the book, PADI
Course Director Alex Bryskle. Alex has authored the PADI IDC curriculum and many other PADI programs. Alex has trained more
PADI Instructors than any Course Director in the world.
When the demand for technical training began to increase Ralph again pursued training with the best the industry
had to offer. Hal Watts “Mr. SCUBA “CEO and founder of PSAI. Ralph and Hal Watts met in 1995, after talking Hal
invited Ralph to come and train with him at 40 Fathom Grotto in Ocala Fl. Ralph accepted Hal’s invitation to be trained
by one of our industries greats, who still holds a place in the Guinness World Book of records for a Deep Air Cave Dive to
415 feet. It should be noted, that as time went on, it was accepted that extremely deep air dives were indeed hazardous and
the current records represent remarkable achievements. Unfortunately, the record is also at the very extreme edge of human
physiological tolerance and so Guinness no longer publishes deep air records or attempts.
Ralph holds the NAUI Course Director rating, he also holds Instructor Trainer ratings with PSAI and TDI
he also holds Instructor ratings with PADI, DAN and SDI. Ralph was one of the first PADI/DSAT TecRec Deep Instructor Trainers
in the world. Feel free to contact Ralph at regionalscuba@aol.com
